A time-of-flight sensor measures the distance from your scalp and adjusts the settings to match. Close to the root, the dryer eases off. Further away, it delivers full power. Engineered to increase shine, balance oils and reduce visible flakes and hair shedding.

Attachment learning — your settings, remembered

A Hall sensor recognises each intelligent attachment the moment you fit it, recalls the heat and airflow you last used with it, and sets itself up automatically. Swap from the diffuser to the concentrator and the dryer is already where you left it.²

Pause detect — it knows when you put it down

An accelerometer senses when the dryer stops moving and is set down, then deactivates the heater and drops the airflow. No more leaving a hot dryer running on the vanity while you section your hair.

One diffuser, two modes

The Wave+Curl diffuser is the attachment most people end up using daily, because it does two different jobs:

• Dome mode draws air into the dome and infuses it through the hair, enhancing natural waves or curls for a more defined finish.⁵
• Diffuse mode pushes air gently through longer prongs to reach deeper into the hair, for textured, voluminous curls and coils.

Frequently asked questions

What is the difference between the Supersonic™ and the Supersonic Nural™?

The Nural™ is the newer generation. It has everything the original Supersonic™ is known for, plus a network of Nural™ sensors that activate three intelligent features: Scalp protect mode, Attachment learning and Pause detect. Both come with five attachments, but the Nural™ attachments carry unique magnetic IDs that enable attachment learning.

Can I use my old Supersonic™ attachments on it?

Yes. Previous Supersonic™ styling attachments fit the Supersonic Nural™, but they will not work with attachment learning. The one exception is the wide-tooth comb.

How often should I clean the filter?

Once a month. Remove the magnetic filter cage, wash it in warm soapy water and soak for at least 30 minutes, then rinse and dry. Wipe the filter itself clear of debris with a clean, dry cloth.

How do I turn Scalp protect mode off?

Press the Scalp protect button on top of the clear circular end cap to toggle it on or off.

Does Pause detect switch off every time I pause?

No. It is deliberately programmed with a 240ms delay so it only activates when the dryer is actually set down, not during momentary pauses while styling. Pause detect is always on unless a diffuser attachment is connected.

Which settings do the attachments default to?

Gentle air — high heat / high flow. Styling concentrator — high heat / medium flow. Wide-tooth comb — high heat / high flow. Wave+Curl diffuser — medium heat / medium flow. Flyaway attachment — low heat / high flow. All of these can be adjusted, and each attachment remembers your changes.

Is it suitable for all hair types?

Yes. The manufacturer tests and studies every hair type in its own hair labs, and the five included attachments cover straight, wavy, curly and coily textures.
