Every straightener you have used works the same way: clamp the hair between two heated plates and pull. The HT01 does not. It straightens with air — heated, projected downward at a 45° angle, and pushed through the section with enough pressure to align the hair as it dries. No plates, no clamping, no scorched cuticle.

That single change is why it can do something a flat iron cannot: start on wet hair. You dry and straighten in one pass instead of two, which is where the time saving comes from.

Glass bead thermistors in both arms read and regulate the airflow temperature up to 16 times a second, holding it steady instead of spiking. A 13-blade impeller driven by the Hyperdymium™ motor spins at up to 106,000 rpm, moving 11.9 l/s and generating up to 3.6 kPa of pressure — enough to straighten hair as it dries, not just blow warm air at it.

It notices when the hair stops

Sensors detect when there is hair between the arms and drop the airflow to low when there is not, so the machine goes quiet between passes instead of roaring at nothing. Leave it for three seconds and it pauses altogether — move it and it picks straight back up. Left open it goes to standby after five minutes; locked, after three.

The colour LCD shows airflow and temperature as you work, so you are not guessing which preset you are in.

Two modes, three steps

• Wet mode — 3 heat settings and 2 speeds, for straightening from damp.
• Dry mode — 3 heat settings including Boost, 2 speeds, for refreshing a style between washes.
• Cool mode — sets the style and encourages the bonds to hold where you put them.

In practice: lock the arms and pre-dry the roots for volume, unlock and work section by section, then finish with Cool mode.

Who it suits

Frequently asked questions

Can I use it on dry hair?

Yes. Select Dry mode and pick a preset temperature for your hair type — it is designed to refresh a style between washes as well as to straighten from wet.

Does it really cause no heat damage?

The manufacturer’s no-heat-damage claim applies to wet-to-dry use,⁴ where the hair is protected by the water still in it. Treat that as the headline use case, not a licence to run it over dry hair at maximum heat indefinitely.

Will it turn itself off if I forget?

Yes. Auto-standby kicks in after five minutes with the arms open, or three minutes with them locked. The LCD goes dark and you press power to restart.

How often should I clean the filter?

Once a month. Wipe the outer filter cage and the inner filter mesh with a soft, dry cloth. Filters, tension bars and diffusers can all be cleaned following the online user guide.

Can I use it in other countries?

No. It is engineered for the voltage of the country it was sold in — 120V here. Above roughly 6,561 ft, reduced atmospheric pressure can also affect performance.

What is the PRCD plug for?

It is a Portable Residual Current Device. Because this machine is designed to be used on wet hair, the plug tests the electrical current for safety. Press TEST and RESET before every use.
